On May 18, 2023, Spartanburg County First Steps Early Head Start hosted a Professional Development Recognition event for teaching staff. The event was held at Lion’s Gate Manor and consisted of individual recognition for all teaching staff and center Directors and a keynote speaker, Tammy Compton (from Quality Counts) who provided a validating message for teachers and the importance of self-care. A catered dinner was served and opportunity for fellowship was enjoyed by all.
The event created an opportunity for teaching staff to receive recognition and validation of the role they have in teaching and caring for Spartanburg County’s young children. Early Head Start teaching staff build the foundation for learning and future success for tomorrow’s adults.
